Board Meeting
May 1, 2006


Present: Jean Cain, JoAnn Caspar, Mary Ann Hayes, Dee Totman, Jill Day, Allegra Mills, Dana McDaniel, Rosemary Harwood, Barbara Fogerson, Carol Wolfe, and Joan Chesterman

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by co-president Allegra Mills, at 7:35 P.M.

Minutes: The April board and general meeting minutes were approved as read.

Treasurer Report: The beginning balance as of 3/31/06 was $3233.26. There was an income of $1386.41 from e-script, reimbursement from the Concord Branch for the March General meeting, TechTrek parents contributions, refund of the Library deposit of 4/05/06, Dues paid for the 2006-2007 year, and monies paid for the craft project items for the April General meeting. Expenses of $136.00 for the craft project items, leaving a balance of $4483.67. The report was accepted and filed for audit.

The voting delegates from our branch can be reimbursed for registration fees for the convention. The president and president-elect can also be reimbursed for 2 meals and travel expenses. $1000.00 was already budgeted for the scholarship fund, so the motion passed last month was not needed.

Program: The officers for the 2006-2007 year will be installed on May 20th at the instalation luncheon, to be held at Dee Totman’s starting at 11:30 A.M.

Old board/New board meeting will be June 26th at 6:00 P.M. It will be a pot luck.

Membership: New ideas are needed for increasing our membership. More articles are needed in the Clayton Pioneer. Other branches have a membership assistance fund to help with increasing dues.

Library: The book sale held in April made $7,515.45. Thanks to all the members who helped out setting up and during the sale.

IBC: The next meeting is May 23rd to be held in Danville.

Other business: We are slated to decorate the display case in the library in September, Help and ideas are needed.

Convention: A great time was had by all attending from our branch. The delegates heard many new ideas on many subjects.

Interest groups: Evening literature will be held May 24th at MaryAnn Hayes’ home.
