Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:36 p.m. by co-president Allegra Mills.
Previous Minutes: The February board meeting minutes were approved as read.
Treasurer’s Report: The beginning Balance as of 1/31/06 was $4392.46. There were expenses of $1107.54. $552.00 is set in reserve for the national convention, leaving cash available of $2732.92. The report was accepted and filed for audit.
Program: This month’s general meeting will be held on March 25th, in conjunction with the Concord Branch, at 10:00 a.m. at the Clayton Library. The topic will be “Women in Government”. The April meeting will be a craft project. The meeting will be on April 24th at 7:30 p.m. at the Diamond Terrace meeting space.
Membership: There is a need for immediate follow-up with prospective new members. We need to get new members involved in branch activities.
EF: The EF luncheon was a success. $1261 will be sent to the EF unrestricted fund.
LAF: Donations are trickling in. There was not total of donations as of yet.
Library/ Community Representative: The library had a wonderful art/ birthday celebration this past weekend. The volunteer recognition luncheon has been changed from March 10th to April 21st.
IBC: Sue Kelson will represent us at the next meeting on March 28th at 6:45 p.m. at the Ygnacio Valley Library. Tech Trek: There are 5 applicants. The committee along with a representative from the CBCA will interview the girls soon, and will select 3 along with an alternate.
Old Business: A notice needs to appear in our next newsletter on an increase in the dues for next year to $85.00. The nominating committee needs to post the slate for incoming officers in the next newsletter.
New Business: Fund raising: Marilyn Schmidt sent in a detailed report on a prospective fund raising activity for our branch for next year. We would be in charge of a dessert booth at the next Clayton October Fest. After discussion the board voted unanimously to take on this project.
State Convention: Sandi Watson and Sue Kelson were elected to be delegates to the convention along with our president Allegra Mills. It was decided that we would not donate a basket this year.
Installation of new officers: The installation will be held on Saturday May 20th at Dee Totman’s.
Announcements: Diablo Middle School needs adults interested in judging student projects for a history contest. Anyone interested should contact the school.
The Next board meeting will be April 3rd at JoAnn Caspar’s home at 7:30 p.m.
