Present: Allegra Mills, JoAnn Caspar, Jean Cain, Mary Ann Hayes, Dee Totman, Jill Day, Dana McDaniel, Rosemary Harwood, Barbara Fogerson, Carol Wolfe, and Joan Chesterman
Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by co-president JoAnn Caspar.
Minutes: The March board and general meeting minutes were approved as corrected.
Treasurer’s Report: The beginning balance as of 2/28/06 was $3284.92. There were expenses of $87.00. $552.00 is set in reserve for the national convention, leaving cash available of $2681.26. The report was excepted and filed for audit.
Program: April 24th will be the next general meeting at Diamond Terrace at 7:30 P.M. Members should bring scissors and about $9.00 for materials. The craft will decoupage clay flower pots. Let Luz Argyriou know if you plan to attend.
Membership: We have a prospective new member, Anne Cahn.
LAF: $595.00 were raised this year by out membership to send to the national LAF.
Library: The bi-annual Clayton Library Branch book sale will be held April 28th thru April 30th. All who would like to help setting up, sorting books or helping on the actual sale days should contact Jeanne Boyd.
Old Business: The attendees will have fees reduced from $150 to $80. They must work at least four hours at the convention sometime from 5:00 P.m. Friday through Sunday lunch. The All day women’s Economic Summit on Friday costs $85.00 which includes speaker and lunch.
New Business: Allegra Mills presented a motion that $500 designated for the convention expenses be transferred to the scholarship fund and the rest split between the delegates. After discussion the motion was seconded and passed unanimously.
An idea for a future fundraising was presented. A Jacqueline Berger would be a speaker to talk on Presidential Wives. Other future program ideas were discussed.
The next board meeting will be held on May 1, 2006 at Allegra Mills’ home at 7:30 P.M.
