Board Meeting
September 12, 2005


Present: JoAnn Caspar, Luz Argyriou, Dee Totman, Barbara Fogerson, Allegra Mills, Joan Chesterman, Dana McDaniel, Sue Kelson, MaryAnn Hayes, Diane Rogers, Helen Rahimzadeh, Carol Wolfe, Jill Day, Sandi Watson, Julia Garcia, Marcia Hart, Diana Bauer

Call to order: The meeting was called to order at 7:47 p.m. by co-president JoAnn Caspar.

Treasurer’s Report: The proposed budget for the 2005-2006 year was presented. It was moved and passed to send the budget to the general membership meeting on September 24th where it will be voted upon. Donations were made to the EF in the name of Connie Rehr and Shirley Taylor. Members having trouble renewing their e-script should get in touch with Jill Day.

Membership: Currently there are 55 members. On October 21st at 7:30 p.m. there will be a new membership open house at Julia Garcia’s.

Program: There are 20-25 tickets left for the fashion show fundraiser. The members will provide appetizers. On October 17th at the general membership meeting Kathleen Cha, AAUW California State President, will present a program about images of women in advertising from 1890 to the 1990’s, at the Clayton Library Meeting Room at 7:30 p.m.

Education and Equity Committee: There will be a California Education Foundation Lunch on Oct. 23 rd at Zio Fradeo”s Fellowship and Scholarship winners will be the speakers.

Public Policy: The usual annual meeting with the League of Women Voters has been canceled.

Gourmet: October 29th the gourmet group will gather at Jennifer Jay’s home for Spanish Tapas. Costumes are preferred. Sign up with the committee.

Other business: Our branch will be the host for the IBC meeting scheduled for November 22nd at the Ygnacio Valley Library Branch meeting room.

The next board meeting will be on October 3rd at Allegra Mills; home at 7:30 p.m.
